ஹார்வர்டு பல்கலைக்கழகம் (Harvard University) ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவின் (USA) மசாசுசெட்ஸ் மாநிலத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது, ஐவி லீக் குழுமத்தில் ஒன்றாக உள்ள இப்பல்கலைக்கழகம் உலகத்தின் மிக பிரபலமான தனியார் பல்கலைக்கழகமும், அமெரிக்காவின் மிகவும் பழமையான மற்றும் பாரம்பரியமான பல்கலைக்கழகமும் ஆகும். 

ஜான் ஹார்வர்டு என்னும் மதகுரு ஒருவரால் 1639 ஆம் ஆண்டு இது தொடங்கப்பெற்றது. 1869 முதல் 1909 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் பல்கலைக்கழகத் தலைவராக விளங்கிய சார்லஸ் இலியாட் இதை உலகின் தலை சிறந்த ஆராய்ச்சி கல்லுரியாக உருவாக்கினார். 

Pஹார்வர்டு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள நூலகம் தான் உலகத்திலேயே மிகவும் அதிக நூல்கள் கொண்ட கல்லூரி நூலகமாக விளங்குகிறது, மற்றும் பொது நூலக வரிசையில் நான்காவது பெரிய நூலகமாக விளங்குகிறது.

Harvard University, established in 1636, is the oldest and one of the most famous institutions in the United States. A statue of John Harvard, College’s first patron, stands in front of University Hall in Harvard Yard and is perhaps the University’s best-known landmark. This Ivy League university carries its legacy from over 375 years not only in the United States but globally as well. Harvard currently has 12 degree-granting Schools in addition to the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
